Over the years Laguna Development Corporation has made continuous efforts to promote healthy living among all employees. The overall health and wellness of LDC team members is a top priority for the company, and employee events are organized throughout the year such as the Duke City Marathon, the Walk-tober Challenge and annual Health Fair Expos.
The year, LDC proudly sponsored 60 employees in the 34th Annual Duke City Marathon. Employees participated in various events such as the Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 10k run/walk and the 5k run/walk. Much like previous years, sign ups for this event filled up fast! Participation in the Duke City Marathon is a great opportunity for LDC employees to get involved in the community and give back. This annual event benefits the Boys’ & Girls’ Club of Central New Mexico which provides children with a safe and inspiring environment during out-of-school hours.
The annual Walk-tober Challenge is another favorite event amongst employees. During the month of October employees were encouraged to participate in the challenge. This challenge tasks employees to get up and get moving in order to reach their weekly goal of 50,000 steps! Many employees were motivated to continue their physical activity outside of work in order to meet their weekly step goal.
LDC invites numerous vendors to participate in both the Dancing Eagle and Route 66 Campus Health Fair Expos to educate employees on health-related information and services. LDC also provided on-site preventative health screening by Catapult Health at both campuses this year.
LDC gives tremendous applause to all employees who are active and who continue to work towards a healthier lifestyle.
